AKIPRESS.COM - Sinopharm coronavirus vaccines were delivered to the regions of Kyrgyzstan last night, Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
1.250 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine were delivered to Kyrgyzstan on July 11.
"Distribution of doses between the regions depends upon the region population and daily coronavirus cases there. 747 vaccination points were opened and are functioning across the country now," the Health Minister said.
Vaccination points will be also opened in private clinics, shopping centers, movie theaters, he added.
"Only vaccination will stop coronavirus," Health Minister Beishenaliev said and urged all citizens to get vaccinated.
According to the Health Minister, some 130,000 were vaccinated in Kyrgyzstan in total. The Ministry of Health aims to vaccinate 1.25 million people by mid-August.
"We expect delivery of another 1.25 million doses of vaccines in near time. Vaccination of 2.137 million people is needed to build herd immunity. We plan to buy more vaccines before September. When 70% of population are vaccinated, we will return to normal life. Then schools will reopen and work as usual since September," the Health Minister stated.
