AKIPRESS.COM - Cabinet Vice Chief Jyldyz Bakashova met with UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan Christine Jaulmes.
Jyldyz Bakashova thanked UNICEF for provided support and assistance in response to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Cabinet Vice Chief outlined the actions undertaken in Kyrgyzstan to contain coronavirus infenction and to vaccinate population.
It was announced at the meeting that 1.25 million doses of Sinopharm vacine are planned to be delivered at the end of July. Arrival of AstraZeneca vaccine through COVAX program, medical supplies, refrigerating equipment is expected.
UNICEF Representative Christine Jaulmes said UNICEF is ready to consider requests of the Cabinet and support priority areas and needs of the country, the Kyrgyz government's press service reported.
The issues related to containment of coronavirus infection, including improvement of state social support of children from families below poverty line were discussed at the meeting.
Christine Jaulmes said 400 schools will be selected together with the Ministry of Education and Science, which will be provided with personal hygiene kits and 100 schools will be provided with tablets.
