Rahmon checks combat readiness of border troops of Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces Emomali Rahmon visited the duty stations of border troops and checked combat readiness of military units in Khatlon region. Rahmon met with mobilized army reservists.
In his speech Rahmon outlined threats and challenges faced by the country in protection of state border.
As for political situation in Afghanistan, President Rahmon said protection of the border of Tajikistan with Afghanistan is of crucial importance not only for security of Tajikistan, but also security of the Commonwealth of Independent States and even European Union.
Security situation in Afghanistan, including its Balkh, Kunduz, Tahar, Badakhshan provinces bordering with Tajikistan is complex.
