Kanybek Kubanychbekova to carry flag of Kyrgyzstan at opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics

AKIPRESS.COM - Kanykei Kubanychbekova will become the first woman, who will carry the flag of Kyrgyzstan at Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony will be held on July 23.
The flag of Kyrgyzstan was carried before only by men at opening and closing ceremonies.

Sydney 2000 - Raatbek Sanatbaev (Greco-Roman wrestling)
Athens 2004 - Mital Sharipov (powerlifting)
Beijing 2008 - Talant Janagulov (judo) at opening ceremony and Bazar Bazarguruev (freestyle wrestling) at closing ceremony
London 2012 - Chingiz Mamedov (judo) at opening ceremony and Bekzat Osmonaliev (powerlifting) at closing ceremony
Rio 2016 - Erkin Adylbek uulu (boxing).
