AKIPRESS.COM - "Nobody forces anyone to get vaccinated against COVID," President Sadyr Japarov said after he received the first dose of Sinopharm coronavirus vaccine today.
"Vaccination is voluntary. Today I received the vaccine. Do not trust false information. Rumors are spread that China donates vaccine free of charge and it won't cooperate with Kyrgyzstan until 70% of population are vaccinated. This is untrue. Nobody gives vaccine for free, we are buying from public budget funds," President Japarov said.
1.2 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine were purchased. 300,000 doses were donated by China, he said.
20,000 doses of Sputnik V were purchased. 5,000 doses were donated by Russia, the President said.
"We should be grateful to these countries for assistance," Japarov said.
"All my family members got vaccinated. I and my son left only. We got vaccinated today," President Japarov said.
