AKIPRESS.COM - The Bishkek local council may consider the proposal of the mayor's office to raise public transport fare at its first meeting, vice mayor Maksatbek Sazykulov said at the meeting of the Budget and Finances Committee of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. "We propose to raise fare in buses and trolleybuses to 11 soms (from current 8 soms) and to 15 soms in fixed route minibuses (+5 soms). We suppose the Bishkek local council will consider this issue at the first meeting," the vice mayor said.
Bishkek should become independent, the vice mayor said.
"We want to bring more buses to the city for this reason. We have over 460 buses, but 140 buses run in fact. We have 180 trolleybuses, but 110 function only," the vice mayor stated.
