Turkmenistan, World Bank sign $20 million loan agreement on COVID-19 Response Project

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Finances and Economy Muhammetgeldi Serdarov held a virtual meeting with World Bank Country Manager Jan-Peter Olters and World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Tatyana Proskuryakova.
The sides discussed further ways to strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and the World Bank in different areas, including in response to coronavirus pandemic.
A $20 million loan agreement between the Ministry of Finances and Economy and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development of World Bank Group on COVID-19 Response Project was signed during the virtual meeting.
Turkmenistan will spend $20 million loan for purchase of medical equipment and supplies for prevention of coronavirus infection.
