AKIPRESS.COM - The shootout between civilians occurred at Kok-Tash border section in Kim-Mazar area on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on July 28, a representative of the Border Service of the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan said in Parliament.
The Tajik side fired shots into the sky, he said.
The border guards did not exchange fire, a Border Service representative stated.
MP Beishenali Nurdinov asked to provide information on shootout, in which a border guard was killed.
"We can't provide information, it is secret. We may provide information to you directly," a Border Service representative said.
