AKIPRESS.COM - The body of a tourist from Kazakhstan who went missing while on vacation was found in the Issyk-Kul region, Turmush reports. Varvara Konopasevich's body was found on August 1 by an employee of the Karakol forestry. He immediately reported it to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. A rescue team arrived on the scene, the body was found on the river bank.
Konopasevich went missing in Ak-Suu district of Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan on July 15. 29-year-old Varvara was seen last time near the Karakol river. The family from Kazakhstan arrived at Alakol pasture on July 14, where they put up a tent. The next day at around 6:00 PM of July 15 Varvara asked a mobile phone from her father to take photos. The girl's parents went to collect wood, while their daugter remained at the improvised bridge across the big river. The girl disappeared by the time of return of parents.
Over 100 police officers, rescuers and emergency workers searched for the girl on July 19.
The woman was searched in three directions: along the river, in forest and in the mountains. The area over 20 km in size was combed through.
14 rescuers, 3 police officers, 3 relatives of the young woman were involved in search operation on July 20.
The search for Varvara was suspended on July 21.
Tourists found shoes and pants of Varvara near Karakol river. Parents of the young woman confirmed the clothing belonged to their daughter. The search operation was suspended due to increased water level in the river.
