AKIPRESS.COM - Nasirdin Tuigunov, the former head of the Chon-Alay village council, died on Aug 8 at the age of 78.
His student Imarbay Bakirov told Turmush that on the day of his death, he organized a so called "Ash" event, which among Kyrgyz people remembers the dead a year after their death with all relatives and friends in attendance. He was still alive at the event, and passed away in the evening.
"Tuigunov made a great contribution to the education in the Alai and Chon-Alai districts. Having studied at the Osh State Institute'S Russian language and literature department, he began his career at the school Kommunist in the village of Daroot-Korgon as a teacher of Russian language and literature. Then he was the head teacher, director of the professional lyceum in the village of Daroot Korgon, the head of the Chon-Alay district department of education, and twice head of the Chon-Alay village council," said Bakirov.
"On August 8, Tuigunov held "Ash" in honor of the anniversary of his own death for relatives and fellow villagers. After completing the event and receiving blessing from the people, he passed away. Tuigunov was 78 years old. He was survived by his wife, 1 son, 5 daughters and grandchildren," said Bakirov.
