Bishkek, Apr. 12, 2019. / Kabar /. A meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Abdrakhmanov and Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China for External Security Cheng Guoping was held in Bishkek today, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The meeting was also attended by Chief of the General Staff - First Deputy Chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, Colonel Alimbaev, as well as a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, the sides noting with satisfaction the progressive development of good-neighborly and friendly relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, discussed the prospects for Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation in the field of security and the fight against terrorism.
They also discussed the forthcoming important bilateral events and reciprocal visits, in particular, the participation of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov in the high-level Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the state visit of Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Kyrgyzstan and his participation in the SCO Summit in June of this year.
Abdrakhmanov emphasized that the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the agreements reached with the Chinese side and is ready to make every effort to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China.
