AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov visited the Pellmeyer Biogas Plant on the outskirts of Munich, Germany on April 15, the President's Office reports.
Plant's manager Thomas Pellmeyer demonstrated how biogas can be extracted from cow manure.
There are 200 cows in the farm, which besides milk, provide raw materials for biogas production. The first biogas unit was built in 1996. The company has become a flagship of biogas industry and renewable energy development in Bavaria and Germany.
Kyrgyz president noted that the renewable energy use potential of Kyrgyzstan is yet to be unlocked. The president hoped that agrarian sector of Kyrgyzstan will be able to adopt the best practices of cattle breeding in its renewable energy system.
At the end of the visit, President Jeenbekov presented a painting depicting Kyrgyz horses as a memento.
