Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, UK Minister of State discuss bilateral ties

AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov today met Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Sir Alan Duncan, the Foreign Ministry said. The sides noted intensified bilateral ties in political, trade, economic, investment, tourist, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres and reaffirmed interest in further development of bilateral relations, discussed suggestions on the schedule of joint events this year.
Situation in Afghanistan was considered during exchange of views on international and regional issues.
Prospects of broadening of cooperation in education was considered among other aspects.
Bilateral trade has grown by 37% in 2018 compared to the previous year and made $235.9 million. The UK is the 5th biggest investor in Uzbekistan.
