Opening of Osh-Istanbul flight was discussed on the sidelines of the 4th meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the Turkic Council with Turkey and the parties found mutual understanding on the issue. The Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the ministry, the fourth meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the Turkic Council ended in Bishkek the day before. All representatives of transport ministries confirmed their interest in the development of the Trans-Caspian corridor. The measures necessary to simplify transport and transit operations (road, rail, naval), tariff policies and administrative procedures were discussed.
In addition, a potential mechanism for promoting multilateral cooperation for the development of the Trans-Caspian corridor was discussed. The issues of a demonstration run of a container block train and a road caravan along the corridor from China to Europe through Turkey were considered.
As the first step, the parties considered it advisable to start the run from the existing logistics centers located on the border with China.
"A discussion of measures to develop the process of sister ports between the Baku, Aktau and Samsun seaports of the Turkic Council took place. Currently, Kyrgyzstan is exploring the possibility of joining this memorandum on sister ports through "a dry port" taking into account the growing trade flow along China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan axis," the message says.
