Tokayev orders to look into possible threats to security of Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakh interim President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to boost analysis of possible military threats and develop approaches to strengthening of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan during the meeting with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Murat Bektanov.
State bodies must be coordinated in work in the field of military policy, Tokayev said. He ordered to increase the level of military discipline and ensure the security of exercises.
Bektanov briefed the president on the combat readiness of the Armed Forces and the work being done to defend the homeland. He also told about ongoing Aibalta-2019 exercises, which began on April 17 in Almaty region.
Aibalta-2019 exercises will run until May 3. The drills are aimed at improving the field training of the forces.
