Trade Union Federation nominates its candidate to run for President of Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Trade Union Federation of Kazakhstan today has nominated Amangeldy Taspihov as presidential candidate, Tass reports. 59-year-old Taspihov is chairman of the trade unions of West Kazakhstan Region, director of Ural Oil and Gas, subsidiary of KazTransGasAimak. He was member of the lower chamber of the Parliament of Kazakhstan in 2004-2007, member of the Senate in 1998-2002.
The snap presidential election has been scheduled for June 9 in Kazakhstan. Nomination of candidates opened on April 10 and will end on April 28. Each candidate should collect more than 118,000 signatures of voters.
