Progress achieved in regions of Kyrgyzstan

There are 489 local governments in Kyrgyzstan, that solve the problems of local residents and increase the level of trust among the population, deputy director of the State Agency for Local Self Government and Interethnic Relations Murat Baidyldaev told at Kabar Agency.
He said that the construction of 22 schools was completed, 20 buildings for schools, 26 gyms, 6 kindergartens, 8 sport complexes, 5 rural health posts, 1 cultural facility and also 4 water intakes were built in the regions of the country.
"Also in the regions a major repair works were carried out in 27 schools, in 2 kindergartens, in 3 hospitals, in 4 cultural facilities and 17 public water supply facilities. In addition, international organizations such as Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provide assistance in the development of local self-government bodies. In the framework of a bilateral agreement with KOICA, the My Village project was implemented jointly with this agency. Within the framework of this project, during three years, Korea will allocate about KGS 241.5 million for 30 aiyl okmots in Batken, Osh and Chui Oblasts," said Baidyldaev.
According to his data, in the framework of the project, together with the Korean agency Semayil Undong, USD 300 thousand will be allocated to 4 villages in Chui oblast to improve the quality of life of the population. "Within the project, the social buildings of the villages will be repaired. In addition, Switzerland allocates KGS 97.8 million for 30 villages of Issyk-Kul and Jalal-Abad regions. The German Development Agency held measures in 30 villages of Naryn, Talas, Issyk-Kul, Chui and Jalal-Abad oblasts in the framework of the project "The Future of Youth", the deputy director said.
