Bishkek Apr. 30, 2019. / Kabar/. A meeting with the participation of defense ministers of the countries participating in Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is held in Bishkek.
Delegations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan exchange views on challenges and threats in Central Asia in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, discuss issues of organizing joint actions to reduce tensions on the Tajik-Afghan border.
The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan reported that the heads of defense ministries will also consider a number of documents, in particular, on the preparation of command bodies and forces and means of the collective security system for next year, a consultation plan on foreign policy, security and defense issues.
In addition, ministers of defense will discuss issues on the organization of joint actions to reduce tensions on the Tajik-Afghan border and the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy for 2018-2020.
The participants plan to sign 11 decisions, including on the material and technical support of the CSTO Collective Forces.
Note that this year Kyrgyzstan chairs in the CSTO.
