AKIPRESS.COM - Collective Security Treaty Organization member states are holding the Mercenary Operation, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov said upon conclusion of the CSTO Defense Ministers in Bishkek today. Counteraction to terrorism was one of the issues of the CSTO Defense Ministers, he said.
"This year we are holding the Mercenary Operation. It is aimed at counteraction to terrorism and extremism, identification of those helping recruitment of mercenaries. The operation is also targeted at identification of channels weapon trafficking," he said.
"Elimination of the resources of terrorists is an important moment in the operation," Semerikov stated.
