Bishkek, May 2, 2019. /Kabar/. The number of civil servants in Kyrgyzstan by the beginning of this year was about 17 thousand 807, the National Statistics Committee reported.
More than 40% of the estimated number of civil servants are women. At the same time, political and special positions - 697 seats, while administrative positions – 17 thousand 110.
This report does not include members of the defence, public order and security forces.
The largest number of civil servants is concentrated in the central apparatus, which is located in Bishkek – 9 thousand 321 people, 438 of whom hold political and special positions, 8 thousand 883 - administrative positions
- Jalal-Abad oblast - 1 thousand 735 (62 - political and special positions, 1 thousand 673 - administrative);
- Chui oblast – 1 thousand 412 (17 - political and special positions, 1,395 - administrative);
- Osh city - 1 thousand 157 (17 - political and special positions and 1395 - administrative);
- Issyk-Kul region – 1 thousand 70 (35 - political and special positions, 1035 - administrative);
- Naryn oblast - 908 (25 - political and special positions and 883 - administrative);
- Osh oblast - 868 (33 - political and special positions and 835 - administrative);
- Batken oblast - 763 (30 - political and special positions and 733 - administrative);
- Talas oblast - 573 (28 political and special positions and 545 administrative positions)
As of Jan.1, 2019, local self-government bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic employed about 10 thousand people, of whom more than 8 thousand were municipal servants. More than a third of the total number of municipal servants are women.
