Daniyar Sydykov about Jeenbekov's visit to Beijing

The statement of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov at the Second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing about the role and place of the republic in the initiative was correctly perceived by the participants,Daniyar Sydykov, the head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic told at a briefing.
"The main purpose of the trip was to participate in the second Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. In the first session, Jeenbekov told the world community about all the reform processes that are taking place in the Kyrgyz Republic. Within the initiative, he noted the place of Kyrgyzstan in the initiative, what should be the contribution of our country and what was said was correctly perceived by the participants," he said.
In addition, Sydykov said that on Apr. 28, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral relations. Of course, this is in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. Also at a high level, the two leaders discussed a major infrastructure project for the construction of the railway. The parties agreed on this issue. This project is necessary not only on a regional scale, but also on a global scale. It can be not only bilateral, but also three or even quadrilateral. Experts will study this issue separately and make suggestions," the head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office added.
He stressed that the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan expressed their readiness to support the project.
Sydykov also noted that during his visit Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with the leadership of the Institute for the Study of History.
"Chinese scientists told us the good news, namely, that today we have found more information about Kyrgyz in Chinese annals of the 10th century BC. In addition, on Apr. 28, our president took part in the official opening of the international exhibition EXPO 2019 on agriculture. Kyrgyzstan also presents its pavilion. The exhibition will run until October. According to the forecasts of the organizers, about 16 million people should visit the EXPO. We hope that about 100 thousand people will visit our pavilion," he concluded.
