UN member states to consider ways to improve effectiveness of peacekeeping operations at Nur-Sultan symposium

AKIPRESS.COM - The 5th International Partnership for Technology in Peacekeeping Symposium will be hosted by the United Nations Department of Operational Support (DOS) in cooperation with the Government of Kazakhstan, and will be held from 28 May to 31 May 2019 in the city of Nur-Sultan, in Kazakhstan.
The symposium is expected to become a forum of cooperation between member states, academia, international organizations in search of ways to enhance effectiveness of peacekeeping operations.
The main themes of the symposium will include technological innovations, enhancement of communications, improvement of situation awareness, counteraction to improvised explosive devices, use of telemedicine, reduction of impact on environment.
