UNECE to help Uzbekistan in preparation of national action plan for integrated water management

AKIPRESS.COM - UNECE will help Uzbekistan in preparation of the national action plan for integrated water management, water supply and sanitation, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
Such agreement was reached at the meeting of State Environmental Protection Committee Chairman Bahrom Kuchkarov and UNECE Executive Secretary Olga Algayerova on the sidelines of the 2019 meetings of the COPs to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions from April 29-May 10.
The UNECE will also assist in preparation of the road map for introduction of the modern environmental impact assessment system to support implementation of the Convention on the Environmental Impact Assessment in Transboundary Context in full and prepare required regulations.
Uzbekistan also reached agreement with UNECE on technical assistance for implementation of social projects and program that will enhance capacity of national environmental protection agencies and statistical committee in collection and generation of necessary data.
