Bishkek, May 13, 2019 /Kabar/. A traditional mass cultural event organized by the European Union Delegation in cooperation with the Bishkek Mayor’s Office, was held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan on Saturday.
The European Village was open to all comers to give them unforgettable impressions and to acquaint Kyrgyzstanis with the culture, history and traditions of the EU member states.
Twelve states - Austria, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Latvia, Slovakia, Finland, France, Sweden, Estonia, Italy and Hungary presented their products, national cuisine, souvenirs and printed materials, information materials, organized interactive sessions for all comers, entertainment for children, exciting games and quizzes.
Bishkek citizens enjoyed special attention on the exposition of author's photos about Hungary and the show program.
"European village in Bishkek - what a wonderful holiday! I was hoping to show children this little Europe, and the reality exceeded expectations! Five hours of entertainment - today fatigue is especially pleasant," Natalia Mokina shared her impressions on social networks after visiting the European Village.
Simultaneously with the fair, cultural events were held on the territory of the European Village, including performances of artists with songs and dances of EU countries, contests, games.
The European Village ended with a bright evening concert of performers from Latvia, Estonia, Finland and the best singers of Kyrgyzstan.
"After the successful first European village a year ago, we decided to repeat this event. We see a large and growing interest of Kyrgyzstanis in Europe. Events of this kind are the best and easy way to tell about Europe in an interesting and understandable way," Ambassador Eduard Auer, the Head of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan said in his welcoming speech at the opening of the Village.
