President Jeenbekov meets Secretary of Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev

Bishkek, May 15, 2019 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to attend the meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states.
President Jeenbekov expressed confidence that the recent state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan brought the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation to a new level and thanked the Russian leadership for supporting Kyrgyzstan, his press service reported.
Jeenbekov noted that it is very important to develop Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the field of security. "The Russian side in the framework of technical assistance in adapting the conditions of EurAsEC built several new border outposts. Kyrgyzstan received a new automotive and special equipment. Helicopters and the first batch of military equipment were handed over to our Armed Forces. Such assistance enhances our ability to counter terrorism and extremism, as well as strengthening stability in the country and the region," the head of state emphasized.
Patrushev thanked for the warm welcome and regular meetings. He also congratulated Jeenbekov on Victory Day, noting that this day is a very important date in the history of the countries, and the Immortal Regiment procession unites the peoples of the world. Nikolai Patrushev also thanked Kyrgyzstan for supporting Russia's position in the framework of international organizations.
Jeenbekov and Patrushev exchanged views on ensuring security and stability in the region, countering existing challenges and threats, including those related to international terrorism and extremism, cooperation in the framework of the SCO and the CSTO.
