MP proposes to ban advertising of alcohol on most visited news sites of Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Janar Akayev proposes to ban advertising of alcohol on most visited news sites of Kyrgyzstan during the parliament meeting, which is discussing draft amendments to the advertising law in the first reading.
"How are we supposed to fight against alcohol ads on news sites, if they are not listed in the law on media in Kyrgyzstan?" he asked.
Head of anti-monopoly agency of Kyrgyzstan Shuhrat Sabirov said the works in this field are under way. "The website owners allowing alcohol ads are fined," he said.
Akayev believes that the size of fines must depend on the ranking of the website. He also proposed to deal with alcohol ads on social media reminding that younger generation does not watch TV, they use social media.
