Jeenbekov meets with Secretaries of Security Councils of SCO member states

Bishkek, May 15, 2019 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Secretaries of the Security Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, who arrived in Bishkek to participate in the 14th meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the head of state recalled that Kyrgyzstan is chairing the SCO this year, his press service said.
"Holding a meeting of the secretaries of the SCO Security Council in Bishkek is very important not only for Kyrgyzstan, but also for all countries belonging to this organization. All SCO countries need to keep security issues in mind. Currently, there are some negative processes in the global world. They form challenges and threats and are able to bring destabilization in the SCO space," said Jeenbekov.
The head of state stressed that the problem of involving people in our countries in terrorist activities is particularly acute. "They prevent ordinary people from living in peace, being confident in the future and developing in a favorable atmosphere. Their goals are completely contrary to the interests of our countries. It is possible to achieve significant results in the fight against modern challenges and threats through consistent and systematic work and only by joint and concerted efforts," the president stressed.
He expressed confidence that the coordination of high-level cooperation will bring concrete results in the construction of the security architecture of the SCO states. The meeting of the secretaries of the Security Council will serve as a solid foundation for the successful organization of the main SCO summit in Bishkek in June of this year.
"Our Organization is a global structure capable of solving international problems. We are all witnessing how the international political environment is changing, what changes are taking place. I consider it important to continue deeper integration within the SCO framework," the head of state added.
He noted the new qualities and dynamics of development of cooperation, which were brought by the new SCO members - India and Pakistan.
