SCO countries to continue jointly combating illegal migration

Bishkek, May 15, 2019 / Kabar /. The secretaries of the Security Councils of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states discussed illegal migration issues in Bishkek.
Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Damir Sagynbaev said that the participants of the meeting confirmed their commitment to work together to counteract the processes of illegal migration and to create conditions that prevent the involvement of migrants in illegal activities.
Secretaries also noted the need for strict compliance with the Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia and the early entry into force of the protocol on security assurances for all signatory states.
Sagynbaev said that the heads of delegation highly appreciated the activities of the Kyrgyz SCO chairmanship in the area of security and stability in the organization. They expressed support for its efforts in preparing for the SCO Summit, which will be held on June 14 in Bishkek, and expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for cordiality, hospitality and high level of organizational training.
As a result of the discussion, they signed the Protocol of the 14th meeting of secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states.
The XIV meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the countries participating in the SCO is held on May 14-15 in Bishkek.
It should be noted that this year Kyrgyzstan chairs the SCO. The next meeting of the Security Council secretaries of the participating countries of the organizations will be held in 2020 in Russia.
