Bishkek, May 16, 2019. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, held a meeting with the heads of the State Property Management Fund under the Kyrgyz Government, the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications, Alfa Telecom CJSC and Kyrgyztelecom OJSC on the settlement of disputed cooperation issues between Alfa Telecom CJSC and KT Mobile LLC.
Following the results of the meeting, the sides decided that Alfa Telecom CJSC would continue cooperation on joint use of frequencies with KT Mobile, which is a subsidiary company of Kyrgyztelecom OJSC, the press service of the government’s reported.
Within the framework of this partnership the parties planned to launch a project on creation of a virtual operator for which Alfa Telecom CJSC will act as a support operator and provide its own technical base in the coming months.
Abylgaziev emphasized that he supports the idea of cooperation between the two state-owned companies, as they should become the main infrastructural locomotives for promoting the country's digitalization policy. Adopted decision will also allow to significantly increase the coverage area of the mobile network throughout the country, including in the most remote and hard-to-reach settlements, and to ensure high reliability of communication in the interests of the company's subscribers.
Alfa Telecom CJSC became the winner of the auction among cellular operators for the right to conclude an agreement on joint use of frequencies with KT Mobile LLC. As the disputable issues were resolved, the parties continued cooperation and Alfa Telecom CJSC assumed the obligation to launch the fourth cellular operator in the market of Kyrgyzstan under the Salam brand within a month.
