Bishkek, May 20, 2019. / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Dastanbek Dzhumabekov met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament, Dzhumabekov, welcoming the delegation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus headed by Vladimir Andreichenko noted that this meeting is a good opportunity to exchange views on current issues of the development of friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus. He also expressed the hope that together the parties "will continue to successfully strengthen inter-parliamentary relations between the two states."
Dzhumabekov stressed that Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to the further development of friendly relations with Belarus on the basis of mutual trust and respect for each other’s interests.
"We highly appreciate the political dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus. In the agreements reached during the working visit of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic in November 2018 to Minsk to attend the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, we see confirmation of the mutual desire of the parties to further develop and enhance mutually beneficial relations," Dzhumabekov emphasized.
The speaker also noted the interest of the Jogorku Kenesh in the further development and strengthening of ties with both chambers of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
Andreichenko thanked for the warm welcome. He expressed admiration for how the infrastructure of our capital is changing, the pace of construction in Bishkek, and how much attention is paid to farming culture in Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking about the development of bilateral cooperation, including parliamentary cooperation, Andreichenko stated the need to build them up.
"It is nice that on the threshold of the CSTO PA meeting we have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, and within the framework of the CSTO PA the issues of ensuring regional stability and peace will be discussed," the speaker of the Belarusian parliament said.
He also noted that bilateral cooperation between the countries is developing dynamically, and trade is also increasing. Andreichenko also said that Belarus is ready to increase trade, as an example, he listed possible options for cooperation: sales of agricultural products from the Kyrgyz Republic and technical equipment from the Republic of Belarus.
"We are interested in expanding bilateral cooperation in all areas, including inter-parliamentary. We are also interested in increasing trade between our countries, we can supply many goods to the Kyrgyz Republic, and we have an interest in agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan. I believe that no circumstances should prevent the development of friendly relations between our countries," concluded Andreichenko.
