Head of Secretariat of Open Government resigns after scandal

AKIPRESS.COM - Imankadyr Rysaliyev has resigned as Head of the Secretariat of the Open Government.
He said it was his own decision to step down in order not to harm the development of open data and open government in Kyrgyzstan.
Scandal around state-run KT Mobile company erupted after it became known that Ernazar Imankadyr uulu, son of Imankadyr Rysaliyev, was the company's deputy director general. Imankadyr Rysaliyev himself is a brother-in-law of Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev. The public was outraged by reports that Ernazar Imankadyr uulu's salary was 157,000 soms per month, Imankadyr Rysaliyev's salary - 300,000 soms.
Parliament set up a temporary commission to look into the KT Mobile's activities. On May 17, it held its first session, where CEO of MegaCom Akylbek Jamangulov said Rysaliyev intimidated him and his family members.
Rysaliyev denied his involvement into the KT Mobile activities.
KT Mobile, a branch of state company Kyrgyztelecom, signed a contract with Megacom company in 2018, according to which Megacom must pay 345 million soms for the right to use the GSM frequency of the KT Mobile and set up a new mobile operator Salam.
