EBRD President to visit Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti will visit Kyrgyzstan on May 21-24 to meet with President Sooronbai Jeenbekov and other Kyrgyz officials.
Chakrabarti is expected to attend a number of events aimed at elimination of climate change consequences in Kyrgyzstan such as the forum on clean water in regions and opening ceremony of the Climate Finance Center in Bishkek.
EBRD President is also expected to sign a MoU with Bishkek on the Green City project and agreement to support SMEs with Optima Bank.
To date, the EBRD has invested over US$ 825 million in the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, with a majority of investments supporting private entrepreneurship. Sixteen projects worth 37.5 million euros were inked in 2018.
