Bishkek, May 21, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov on Tuesday, May 21 received State Councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi, the President’s press service reported.
The President and Foreign Minister exchanged views on cooperation in agriculture, transport, communications, small and medium business support, as well as digitalization, taking into account China’s experience.
Also they discussed bilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as within the framework of the One Belt, One Road platform.
Jeenbekov expressed confidence that the state visit of President of China Xi Jinping, which is expected on June 2019, will give new impetus to bilateral cooperation and strengthen the Kyrgyz-Chinese friendship.
"I am confident that this visit will be successful, fruitful and give a new impetus to our bilateral relations. Our countries have full understanding, trust and opportunity to strengthen and develop our friendly relations. Large-scale economic projects are underway in Kyrgyzstan with the support of China. We highly appreciate China's assistance over all the years of our cooperation," the President said.
Jeenbekov also stressed that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to the development cooperation within the framework of the One Belt, One Road platform.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of China noted that the two countries have established strategic partnership, adding that China has been and remains a reliable partner and good neighbor of Kyrgyzstan.
"We support Kyrgyzstan’s development course under your leadership. My visit is a preparation for the state visit of President of China Xi Jinping to your country and the upcoming SCO Summit. At the moment, Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries are making preparatory activities in all areas. We are confident that the historic visit of President Xi Jinping will be a successful, and give impetus to the development of friendly relations between our peoples and partnership between the countries," Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi said.
