Bishkek, May 22, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, who arrived in the country to attend meetings of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO and CSTO.
The sides discussed the current state and priorities of the Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral cooperation, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
Jeenbekov noted with satisfaction that the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin in March of this year confirmed that Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level and is gaining active momentum and is filled with concrete content.
The Kyrgyz President, referring to cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), expressed gratitude to the Russian side for support in recognizing the domestic veterinary control system equivalent to the EAEU systems.
Lavrov conveyed to Jeenbekov best regards from Vladimir Putin and expressed gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome.
He noted that the recent visit of Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan was informative and fruitful. "Within the framework of the visit, many inter-sectoral events took place, important and positive documents were signed. We are monitoring the progress of implementation of all sectoral documents by our departments," said Sergey Lavrov and stressed the readiness of the Russian side to support Kyrgyzstan in all undertakings and international projects.
The President once again stressed that Kyrgyzstan is a reliable friend, a strategic partner and ally of Russia, and conveyed the words of welcome to Vladimir Putin.
