Bishkek, May 22, 2019. / Kabar /. A regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CSTO, chaired by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, has begun in Bishkek.
Traditionally, the meeting began with a photography ceremony. Then the participants met in a narrow composition. After the meeting will be continue in an expanded format.
During the meeting, it is planned to discuss the situation in the region and in the world, as well as the interaction of the CSTO member states in countering contemporary security challenges and threats.
A number of documents are expected to be signed, contributing to the further development of cooperation within the Organization.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a regional international organization uniting Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The main activities of the Organization are interaction in the foreign policy, military and military-technical fields. Currently, active work is underway to implement the main areas of cooperation proposed by the Kyrgyz side in connection with the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the CSTO in 2019, taking into account the principle of continuity and further improving the effectiveness of the Organization.
