Bishkek, May 23, 2019. /Kabar/. Representatives of mass media of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries and journalism faculty’s students of the leading universities of Kyrgyzstan met in Bishkek.
During the meeting, the speakers discussed the prospects of media partnership development in the SCO space, as well as shared knowledge and experience with future colleagues, answering their questions.
Nurjigit Kadyrbekov, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic opening the discussion platform, warmly welcomed the guests, noting their professionalism and importance in the general information field.
"Journalists are considered to be representatives of the most influential sphere in the era of informatization. Therefore, such meetings are important for determining the prospects for mutual cooperation and mechanisms of interaction, so that the organization’s information field reflects more positive aspects," Kadyrbekov said.
Then the speakers presented themselves and expressed readiness to answer the questions of the young generation of future journalists and media experts.
Students also asked questions about freedom of speech in each of the SCO member state.
Thirteen speakers represented by heads of media organizations and government agencies in charge of the media industry from eight countries: India, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as students from eight Kyrgyz universities attended the meeting.
