AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov congratulated newly appointed UNDP Representative Louise Chamberlain with appointment. Minister Aidarbekov expressed hope the efforts of the new UNDP Representative will help further deepening of cooperation between two countries for the purpose of sustainable development of the country.
Louise Chamberlain was informed about main areas of the country's sustainable development strategy until 2040 and priorities in connection with the Year of Development of Regions and Digitization declared by the presidential order.
Importance of continued implementation of socio-economic development projects and achievement of sustainable development goals was emphasized.
Louise Chamberlain, a native of Sweden, joined UNDP in 1999. She has joined UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic in May 2019.
From December 2018 to May 2019 Ms. Chamberlain worked as Resident Representative a.i. in Ethiopia coordinating UNDP Ethiopia.
Between 2012 and 2018 Ms. Chamberlain worked as Country Director in UNDP Viet Nam Ha Noi(Aug 2012-Jul 2017) and UNDP Ethiopia Addis Ababa(July 2017-Nov 2018).
From July 2008 to July 2012 Ms. Chamberlain worked as Deputy Country Director (Programme) in Tanzania coordinating UNDP Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
Between 2003 and 2008 Ms. Chamberlain worked as Assistant Resident Representative (Programme) in UNDP Sri Lanka Colombo(Aug 2003-Aug 2005) and UNDP Somalia Nairobi(Mar 2006-Jul 2008).
From September 2000 to July 2003 Ms. Chamberlain worked as M&E Specialist, in the World Bank, in Global ICT Department Information for Development Programme, in Washington D.C.
From June 1999 to June 2000 Ms. Chamberlain worked as Project Evaluator and Monitoring Assistant (UNV Specialist) in Palestine.
Ms. Chamberlain started her career in 1994 as Investment Advisor and she has worked in Newsec AB (JSC) till 1999 in Stockholm.
Ms. Chamberlain holds Master of Science M.Sc. equiv. (Business and Economics) from the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) of Sweden.
