Nur-Sultan, May 28, 2019. /Kabar/. Bilateral meeting of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took place in Nur-Sultan.
Jeenbekov arrived today in Kazakhstan for a working visit to participate in the jubilee meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), which will be held in Nur-Sultan on May 28-29.
At the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Jeenbekov noted that the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates strategic cooperation, friendship, alliance and good neighborliness between the brotherly countries and attaches priority importance to the development and strengthening of relations with Kazakhstan.
"The Roadmap for Bilateral Economic Cooperation is being implemented between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan," he said.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov invited Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan and hold a regular meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council chaired by the heads of state.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that the relations between the countries are absolutely friendly.
"This is your first time in Nur-Sultan. We are very happy to see you on our land. We have no such example in Kazakhstan's relations with other countries. For example, there is an interstate council, an intergovernmental council and a council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We have many such institutions that allow us to say that relations between the countries are the highest priority. As the new president, I am absolutely positive that I will do everything to achieve concrete results," he said.
