Nur-Sultan, May 29, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is interested in the transparency and objectivity of customs control at the external borders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov told during the expanded meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), which is held in the capital of Kazakhstan.
"We are interested in the transparency and objectivity of customs control at the external borders of the Union. Therefore, I propose to introduce a "triple" customs control with the participation of representatives of interested sides from among the EAEU and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) members. The results and conclusions of the joint control should be open to the general public. Such a procedure could remove the claims of one country against another," Jeenbekov said.
The head of state also considers that there is need to continue the work on creating favorable conditions for workers by improving the legal framework of the Union.
He said that no less important is the elimination of obstacles in the EAEU internal market. "The effectiveness of our Union depends on its ability to create equal competitive conditions both among its members and with third countries. However, there has been an increase in barriers and restrictions. In this regard, Kyrgyzstan is in favour of working systematically to eliminate them," he added.
