AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today met Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the first meeting of the joint commission at the level of heads of government, the Uzbek president's press service reports.
Welcoming the guest, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted an intensive development and enhancement of bilateral strategic partnership and alliance.
The sides underlined a regular and productive dialogue on top level, joint implementation of the agreements of the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan in October 2018 helped expansion of bilateral multifaceted cooperation.
Ways to expand cooperation and accelerate priority investment projects in various economic sectors were considered at the meeting.
A particular attention was paid to timely and proper preparation together with Rosatom of a nuclear power plant construction project.
The agreement was reached to step up exchanges at the level of region administrations and businesses. Deepening of research and humanitarian cooperation was considered.
The sides reaffirmed commitment to expansion of bilateral ties.
