Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan orders to look into facts announced in investigative report of Azattyk

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev ordered to look into the facts announced in the investigative report of Azattyk news agency about millions of dollars being withdrawn from Kyrgyzstan.
Abilgaziyev gave orders to the financial police, anti-corruption service of the National Security Committee, the State Financial Intelligence Service and the National Bank, his office said.
On May 29, Azattyk news agency released an investigative report looking into the wealth of the Matraimovs and hundreds of millions of dollars withdrawn from Kyrgyzstan.
Ex-Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service Raimbek Matraimov is nicknamed "Raim-million" over his alleged wealth. Matraimov was sacked in November 2017 by then-Prime Minister Sapar Isakov over the loss of government's trust. Matraimov sued Isakov for illegal dismissal and won the lawsuit.
On December 19, 2018, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov ordered to check his wealth during the year-end press conference.
In late January 2019, the financial police said it started investigation into the wealth of Matraimov. The results of the investigation have not been released yet.
