Kyrgyz-Belgian business forum held in Bishkek

Bishkek, June 3, 2019 /Kabar/. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek holds a Kyrgyz-Belgian business forum. 11 largest companies of Belgium, which are seriously committed to building partnerships with Kyrgyz entrepreneurs, arrived in the capital to participate in the Forum.
First of all, businessmen are interested in companies operating in the production of energy-efficient technologies, film exhibition equipment, aerospace industry, educational services, production of ice cream, confectionery, cosmetology, processing of agricultural products, technologies for water pipes and sewage, construction industry, etc.
By the way, trade and economic relations between the two countries have shown positive dynamics since 2014. Kyrgyzstan exported goods from Belgium worth more than EUR 18 million last year, and the volume of imports amounted to EUR 0.5 million.
Belgium is considered to be one of the most highly developed European countries and occupies an important place in the modern world economy. The country has been able to use its own resources very effectively for accelerated industrial development.
The business forum was accompanied by last year's visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Belgium. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Alexis de Crombrugghe, visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic at the beginning of 2019. During this visit the Belgian ambassador and President of the Chamber Marat Sharshekeyev reached agreement on organization of a Kyrgyz-Belgian business forum in June 2019. After that, preparatory activities for the formation of a Belgian business delegation to Kyrgyzstan were started. The organizers of the Forum hope that today's business meeting will be a good start to successful mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Belgium.
