Jalal-Abad, June 3, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan will not export electricity this year, Acting General Director of Electric Stations OJSC Islanbek Sarseyitov told Kabar News Agency. He noted that the main reason is the beginning of the water shortage cycle.
"We have an exchange of goods with Kazakhstan. That is, we export 270 mln kilowatt hours of electricity to them from June 5 to August, and they return it to us from September to November," he said.
As for Uzbekistan, last year Kyrgyzstan exported 700 mln kilowatt hours. "However, there will be no exports this year due to the low volume of water," Sarseyitov said.
