President Jeenbekov congratulates Valentina Shevchenko on defense UFC champion title

Bishkek, June 10, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov on June 9 congratulated by phone UFC mixed martial arts world champion Valentina Shevchenko on her title defense at the UFC 238 tournament in Chicago, the press service of the President reported.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov warmly greeted the athlete and stressed that hundreds of thousands of Kyrgyz, including him, were confident that their famous compatriot would successfully defend her champion title.
"Defending the title is even more difficult than achieving it. But you coped with this task quite easily. It was obvious that you were much better prepared than your opponent. We believe and know that you will achieve even better results and show the world the sterling achievements in sports in the future," Jeenbekov said.
Valentina Shevchenko thanked the President of Kyrgyzstan for his personal attention to her sporting career, support and warm congratulations, noting that she is very grateful to her Kyrgyz compatriots and fans from all countries of Commonwealth of Independent States for their ongoing warm support.
Valentina Shevchenko knocked out a U.S. athlete Jessica Eye at the UFC 238 in Chicago and defended her UFC world title in the lightest weight.
President Jeenbekov previously awarded Shevchenko Dank medal for her outstanding sport achievements in UFC and MMA during her arrival to Kyrgyzstan on Apr. 7, 2019.
