AKIPRESS.COM - The snap presidential election of Kazakhstan cost about 9.4 billion tenge ($23 million), Secretary of the Central Election Commission Sabila Mustafina told at the meeting with a group of international observers.
According to her, the CEC initially asked to allocate more money for election, Kommesant reported.
"The government supported our suggestions in most of their parts, but the costs for printing houses and the volume of materials were optimized, a little optimization was carried out by territorial election commissions due to different prices for goods and services in the regions," the CEC Secretary noted.
The snap presidential election of Kazakhstan was held on June 9. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won the vote (70.76%).
