Bishkek, June 10, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Abdygany Erkebayev, the Chairman of the Council of People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan.
The sides discussed measures on strengthening inter-ethnic harmony, civil peace and the unity of the country’s people.
The chairman of the Assembly Council noted that he had conducted a number of visits to the regions of the country, during which he met with the leaders of ethnic diasporas and local authorities.
The President emphasized that interethnic harmony is the basis for the stable development of the state. He stressed that the Kyrgyz people value the integrity of society and recalled the importance of its preservation and strengthening.
Jeenbekov highlighted the special role of the Assembly in the consolidation of the society on the basis of common civil identity, preservation of cultural diversity, as well as prevention and settlement of possible conflict situations.
The People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan is an advisory and consultative body on cooperation with public authorities and ethno-cultural centers in strengthening the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan.
On May 6, 2019 the Council of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan elected as the Chairman of the Council Abdygany Erkebayev, the former President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
