More than 500 foreign and local journalists to cover SCO Summit in Bishkek

Bishkek, June 12, 2019. / Kabar /. More than 500 foreign and local media representatives are accredited to cover the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek on June 13-14 of this year, the Kyrgyz President’s press service said.
Thus, 434 foreign journalists from 115 mass media of India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia and Japan received accreditation for coverage of the event.
Also, 94 representatives from 32 media of Kyrgyzstan received accreditation.
On June 13, a festive gala concert "Friendship Caravan" will be held in the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic with the participation of the heads of state of the SCO countries.
On June 14, the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held at the Ala-Archa State Residence. The meeting will be broadcast live on Ala-Too 24 TV channel of the Public Broadcasting Corporation.
SCO members are 8 countries: India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Four countries have observer status: Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia.
Besides the SCO Summit, other international events will be held in Bishkek these days: President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga arrived in Bishkek on June 12 for an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
On June 13, the state visit of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping will take place.
The official visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi will take place on June 14.
