President Mirziyoyev, UN Under-Secretary General discuss sustainable development in Central Asia

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Bishkek. Discussions focused on prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UN agencies towards achievement of the sustainable development goals, the president's press service said.
A special attention was paid to security issues and sustainable development in Central Asia.
Importance of the efforts aimed to overcome implications of the Aral Sea catastrophe was emphasized.
