Presidents of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan discuss regional cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, the Uzbek president's press service reports. The President of Uzbekistan noted the grown bilateral trade, development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation and humanitarian exchanges.
Practical aspects of concrete programs and projects aimed at socio-economic reconstruction of Afghanistan and its involvement into regional cooperation in Central Asia were considered at the meeting.
Ashraf Ghani expressed gratitude to President Mirziyoyev for efforts on the soonest peaceful regulation of the situation in Afghanistan.
