Draft Road Map on Afghanistan to be signed at SCO Summit

Bishkek, June 14, 2019. / Kabar /. On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, a draft Road Map for Afghanistan will be signed, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov told during the enlarged meeting of the Council of heads of states of the SCO.
He said that in November last year, a high-level special event was held "UN-Shanghai Cooperation Organization: Cooperation Aimed at Strengthening Peace, Security and Stability".
"The keystone in this area is the solution of the Afghan problem. We are pleased to note the actions of the Afghan authorities, as well as the intensification of the inclusion of the SCO in solving this problem. This was reflected in the results of the regular meeting of the SCO Contact Group - Afghanistan in April of this year in Bishkek and the draft Road Map, which will be signed on the margins of today's Summit," he said.
It should be noted that the President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, takes part in the SCO summit as an observer country.
